I began playing the violin and piano aged 4; by 12, I had completed all of ABRSM’s 8 grades on both instruments and began developing myself in areas not covered by the syllabus – chiefly improvisation and composition.
A keen self-taught guitarist, this new instrument opened up a new palate of genres (rock, jazz, pop and more) which I incorporated into my violin and piano playing alongside Middle Eastern and Oriental influences from my family heritage. At age 15, I also added grade 8 viola to my list of qualifications.
For the past few years, I have had a diverse range of musical roles including touring in Europe and Scandinavia with a rock band, playing weddings and parties in a piano trio, curating and organising the Catch 22 Jams monthly jazz/funk/soul evening, co-founding Wycombe Jazz Festival and presenting a radio show on 106.6 FM Wycombe Sound.
